Anaty

Anaty, referred to the Alyawarr language group from Utopia, as Bush potato or Desert yam. It is a source of bush tucker food for Aboriginal people in central Australia. The yams are cooked in the hot earth beside the camp fire.


It's Binomial name is 'Ipomoea costata'. It produces large purplish-pink trumpet flowers and can be found in the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Queensland.
