Utyerrke

Utyerrke its Aboriginal name referred to by the Arrernte people in central Australia as Wild figs. The Aboriginal women pick the fruit when the figs turn red. When the figs goes dark and shrivels, they are mashed into a ball to be eaten.

Girls and women often tell stories on the ground using wild fig or gum leaves to re-enact certain symbolic spirits.
