The main feature in this artwork depicts the Kangaroo, which is an important part of the traditional Aboriginal diet as a bush food.

Kangaroo is called Kere aherre by the Arrernte people of Central Australia. An Aboriginal person might belong to the kangaroo totem and similarly be related to kangaroos and have another feature of the landscape representing their kangaroo totem.
