Sand Hills refers to the tracks of the Mina Mina women (ancestors), as they travelled on foot over sand-hills and claypans to the significant site salt on Mina Mina in central Australia.

Throughout their journey the women shaped the landscape with digging sticks and performed ceremonies, which embraced song lines and dance cycles.
