The artwork depicts Aboriginal iconography which explains as follows:

  • The U shapes with lines represent awelyeaboriginal glossary button
  • The large circles represent a campsite
  • The small circles represent bush melon

The depiction refers to the women's ceremonies performed at Atnwengerrpaboriginal glossary button - the artists homeland. The circles represent bush melon fruit, which once grew plentiful, but now days difficult to find. The Aboriginal women gathered the fruit, either to be eaten or dried, when bush tucker became scarce.

Betty Mbitjana inherited this Dreaming from her late mother Minnie Pwerle.
