The painting depicts the complex root system of the yam plant after rain in yellow flower.
The yam plant is staple food source (bush tucker), gathered by the women from Utopia , Aboriginal Art Regions of Central Australia.

The women pay homage to the spirit of the yam plant in their ceremonies to ensure perpetual germination.
