The painting depicts the tracks of the Mina Mina women (ancestors), as they travelled on foot over sand-hills (red dots) and clay-pans to the significant site salt on Mina Mina (Lake Mackay), north-west of Yuendumu in Central Australia
Throughout their journey the women shaped the landscape with digging sticks and performed ceremonies, which embraced song lines and dance cycles.
