The painting depicts the tracks of the Mina Mina women, as they travelled on foot over sand-hills (red dots) and clay-pans to the significant site salt on Mina Mina aboriginal dictionary button north-west of Yuendumu in Central Australia

Throughout their journey the women defined the landscape with digging sticks and often stopped and performed ceremonies, which embraced song lines and dance cycles.
