The painting represents a rock spirit holding two dilly bags.( A dilly bag is made from fibres of plant species and are used for carrying food or for preparation purposes). Rock spirits or mimi spirits can be found on rock formations in the Top End of Northern Australia.
Mimi Spirits are depicted as tall, thin spirits. They are harmless, but can be quite mischievous. It is believed they taught some Aboriginal people how to hunt, gather and paint.
