The painting depicts Awelye, body paint design and journey tracks (fine white lines) associated with women's ceremony. The journey tracks represents ceremonial sites for the Aboriginal women from Utopia Central Australia.

In preparation for the ceremonies Aboriginal women paint their upper body with ochre designs or markings.

Ceremonies include many song and dance cycles and carry deep spiritual significance for Aboriginal women.
