The painting represents flowing water and soakages of the underground system of the Lander River, an important place in Wantapari country, associated with the Warlpiri people from the outstation of Willowra, Yuendumu, Aboriginal Art Regions of Central Australia.

The roundels depict camp-sites, where ceremonies are performed with chanting, singing and dance cycles to invoke the Ancestral Beings to ensure rain.
