The painting refers to the significant site of Mina Mina, west of Yuendumu in Central Australia and the Napangardi & Napanangka women.

The women gathered ngalyipi (snake vine), which has great ceremonial significance to Warlpiri people of Central Australia.

Ngalyipi is used to make shoulder straps to help carry Ngami (water carriers) and parraja (coolamon).

Aboriginal Symbols depicted in the painting are:

  • U shape represents women
  • I shape represents digging stick
  • Concentric circle represents ceremonial site
