The painting depicts the Mistletoe, an edible fruit gathered by the Aboriginal women and children in Central Australia. The fruits are red, orange, black or yellow when ripe. Emus and some bird species eat this fruit as well.

Eastern Arrernte Aboriginal people call the Mistletoe -ingkwerrpme.

The foot prints represent a spiritual connection with their homeland, known as walkabout. (Walkabout is a spiritual journey where they return to their home or where they feel a connection to the land).
