Wild figs referred to by the Eastern Arrernte people as Utyerrke
and is associated with certain women's Dreaming stories. They can be eaten or ground into a paste and left to dry.
Bush berries are gathered after rain, when the barren desert has been transformed into an abundance of edible berries. They can be eaten either raw or cooked.
