The Mistletoes, an edible fruit are gathered by the Aboriginal women and children. The fruits are red, orange, black or yellow when ripe. Emus and some bird species eat this fruit as well. Eastern Arrernte Aboriginal people call the Mistletoe- Ingkwerrpme aboriginal dictionary button


The Bush banana is called Alangkwe aboriginal dictionary button. It is a totem to certain people. The women gathered the fruit promptly after rainfall, otherwise if left to long the fruit and flowers become too hot.
