This artwork is a significant Dreamtime story belonging to the Warlpiri people of central Australia. The ancestors broke the Yiwarra aboriginal dictionary button, its Warlpiri name for Milky Way into individual stars, as we see it today. Some fragments fell to earth, creating sacred places. This story is re-told in paintings, song and dance as well as re-enacted in certain ceremonies.

The seven circles represents the seven sisters as they travelled across the Milky Way.
