This artwork depicts Snake and Goanna. In central Australia, the Snake and Goanna are totemic spirits and Aboriginal artists who paint Snake or Goanna Dreaming do so, to honour their ancestral spirit.

Goanna, their eggs and lizards represent a substantial part of Aboriginal people's food source. The goannas are tracked down and dug from burrows using a digging stick.
