The painting depicts aboriginal symbols, relating to significant ceremonial sites, where aboriginal women perform awelye (womens ceremonies). The continuous curling pattern represents the celebration of the bush yam, as an aboriginal food source and pay homage to the spirit of the yam plant, so it regenerates to feed the aboriginal people from Utopia regions of Central Australia.
