Kenneth Jungarrayi Martin
Kenneth Jungarrayi Martin comes from Lajamanu Community halfway between Darwin and Alice Springs in the Tanami Desert. Orphaned at a young age he was brought up by his paternal uncle. Kenneth is quite artistic not only with paint and a brush but he is also part of the Lajamanu Teenage Band. The band was even nominated for an Aria Award for Best World Music Album. The band are popular live acts and have performed at various events around Australia.
Kenneth lives in Nyirripi when not travelling with the band and it is here that he began working with Warlukurlangu Artists in 2011. It was his "grandfather" Mosquito Morris who has shown him the designs and shapes that depict his Dreaming. Kenneth paints his father's Dreamings which include Emu and Budgerigar.
