Pantjiti McKenzie Tjiyangu was born in 1942 and lived with her family in the traditional way at Pipalyatjara. aboriginal glossary button After Pantjiti's father and one of his wives passed way, she walked with her family group and re-settled east of Pukatja. aboriginal glossary button


In the 1980's Pantjiti worked at Ernabella and Amata Art centres. In 2002, the State Library of South Australia commissioned Ernabella Arts Inc. to supply a design for a series of three "monumental" rugs for its $41 million extension. The winning design was by Pantjiti.McKenzie Tjiyangu, a proud achievement for her and the Ernabella Art centre.


Pantjiti is gifted at carving bush animals in wood. Her large "Ngintka aboriginal glossary button have character and spirit.
