Roxella Napangardi Marshall
Roxella Napangardi Marshall was born in 1990 and comes from Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. Roxella's family are well respected artists from the Community including her mother Elanore Napangardi Wayne and her grandmother Maisie Napurrurla Wayne. While at school Roxella loved art and she began painting when she was 10 years old attending workshops held at Warlukurlangu Art Centre in Yuendumu.
In 2013 Roxella began to paint more regularly, she paints her grandmother's Dreaming of Marmikji - Conkerberry, Lukarrara (Desert Fringe Rush Seed) and Ngurlu (Native Seed Dreaming). These Dreamings relate directly to her land, it's features and the plants and animals that inhabit it. These Dreamings have been passed down to her by her parents and their parents before them.
