The Aboriginal iconography depicted in this painting are associated with Ahakeye - Bush Plum Dreaming inherited from his fathers country Illkawerne at Utopia in Central Australia.

The symbols illustrated are:

  • The concentric circle (centre) represents the Mulga tree, it also symbolises the sacred site of this ancestral story
  • The parallel lines indicate the branches and the root system of the tree
  • The arched shapes represent the fruit fallen from the tree
  • The background dot work reflects design and elements associated with story and country
