The painting represents the Yam plant (connecting loops). Annamurra is referred to as Yam country, by the artist.
It is also a significant Aboriginal food source (bush tucker) gathered by the Aboriginal women living in surrounding areas of Utopia, Aboriginal Art Regions of Central Australia.
The women pay homage to the Yam plant in their Awelye ceremonies.
