Christmas Sale 2009

Yam Seed Dreaming by Jennifer Purvis Kngwarreye

The artwork refers to kame, the seed of the Antwelarraboriginal glossary button. The Kame Dreamtime story is of significance to the artist and her family from Alhakereaboriginal glossary button in central Australia.

Antwelarr is celebrated in their Awelyeaboriginal glossary button ceremonies. Certain song lines and dance cycles are performed to ensure its productivity as a food source. Homage is paid to the Kame ancestors.
