Christmas Sale 2010

Alawa Country 2004 by Barney Ellaga

The artist expresses through a palette of colours his country of Alawa, which is situated on Southern Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. The oblong shape depicted in the artwork represent the sugar-bags or native bees depositing honey into rock crevices. The red border represents the rocks surrounding Minyerri (Alawa), which is the resting place of the sugar-bags or native bees.
