This painting depicts particular leaves the Aboriginal women collect from Utopia
in central Australia. These leaves contain medicinal properties. The leaves are boiled , kangaroo resin added and made into a paste, which Aboriginal people use as a bush medicine for wounds, cuts, bites, boils and rashes.
Bush medicine is important to the women and homage is paid in their awelye
ceremonies.
