The painting depicts Mount Sonder (Rwetyepme) which forms part of the magnificent Western McDonnell Ranges in Central Australia and is known as Albert Namatjira country.

Mount Sonder is known to the Western Arrernte Aboriginal people as Rwetyepme.
The dreamtime ancestors are still alive in the land today and their tracks entwine the mountain.
