The painting depicts the journey the Tingari ancestors travelled over vast tracts of land, creating and shaping sites in the Western Desert. The Tingari ancestors performed ceremonies, instilled law and culture to the Pintupi people

The Tingari Cycle is enshrined in many of the Pintupi songlines and dance cycles.
