Kere atyunpe is an Aboriginal word in the Arrernte language. It translates to Perentie. The Perentie is the largest of the Goannas in Australia and one of the largest monitors in the world. Kere atyunpe in Aboriginal Culture is evident in the totemic relationship, and part of a Dreamtime stories, as well as bush tucker for Aboriginal people.
