Mina Mina Jukurrpaby Elizabeth Napanangka DixonThis Dreaming comes from Mina Mina, a very important women's Dreaming site far to the west of Yuendumu near Lake MacKay and the Western Australia Border. The Kirda of the Dreaming are Napangardi/Napanangka women and Japanangka/Japangardi men. The area is sacred to Napangardi/Napanangka women. There are a number of Mulju and a Maluri at the site of Mina Mina. This Dreaming is also linked with Ngalyipi or Snake Vine. ArtistElizabeth Napanangka Dixon comes from Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. Elizabeth works with Warlukurlangu Artists, a local Aboriginal governed art centre based in Yuendumu. Elizabeth paints Mina Mina Jukurrpa or Women's Ceremony Dreaming and Snake Vine Dreaming. |
