Grace Napangardi Woods
Grace Napangardi Butcher (formerly known as Florrie Napangardi Jones) was born in 1967 in Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. Grace has been working with Warlukurlangu Artists in Yuendumu since 2008 however she has had involvement with them throughout the years since 1987. Grace's sister Mary Napangardi Butcher and aunt Daisy Napanangka Nelson (sadly deceased) are both well known artists and together would collaborate on artworks.
Grace paints Mina Mina Jukurrpa and Pikilyi Jukurrpa which is a sacred waterhole that never dries out, found in Yuendumu Community. Her Dreamings depict country and describe journeys travelled by her ancestors across the land. Her Dreamings have been passed down to her from her father's side of the family. Grace enjoys the process of painting as it connects her to her culture.
