BiographyJudy Dunn is a young woman from Pukatja or Ernabella Community. The settlement is approximately 440km from Alice Springs and over the border in South Australia. Ernabella is renowned as the oldest permanent settlement on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytatjara Lands (APY Lands). The people from Ernabella speak three languages, Yankunytjatjara, Pitjantjatjara and Ngaanyatjara which are from the Western Desert language groups of Central Australia. Judy Dunn enjoys experimenting with art as a hobby and cultural activity. She has created a beautiful hand painted ceramic platter. She has used traditional iconography, symbols and motifs to reflect her personal interpretation of her culture and country. |
