BiographyMargaret Price Panangke comes from Utopia Community several hours from Alice Springs in Central Australia. She is a hobbiest artist who enjoys painting as a cultural and leisure activity. The painting that Central Art had featured on our website depicted Bush Yam Seed Dreaming and details a topographical depiction of the Bush Yam Seed. The Bush Yam plant is of great importance to Aboriginal people, particularly those living the Utopia region and from the Anmatyerre and Alyawarre language groups. The Bush Yam is a staple food source or bush tucker and is celebrated by the women of Utopia in their Awelye ceremonies to ensure perpetual germination and continued supply. |
