The Warlpiri Aboriginal women anoint their upper body with oil before applying ochre designs in preparation for their traditional ceremony. ArtistNora (also know as Nora Long Napanangka) was born in 1948 at Willowra in central Australia. She has been a painter since the late 1980's. Some of Nora's 'Dreaming' stories include Goanna, Bush onion and Yawulyu (Women's body paint design). Nora' Long Napananga's daughter is well known artist Janet Long Nakamarra. |
