BiographyPolly Anne Napangardi Dixon was born in 1980 and comes from Darwin in the Northern Territory. Her family originate from Lajamanu, an Aboriginal community on the edge of the Tanami Desert. As a young girl Polly-Anne's family relocated to Yuendumu, a few hundred kilometers outside of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Over the last 15 years she has held positions working in youth programs and media communications in the community. Polly Anne began painting for Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corportation in Yuendumu in 2006, although she had been introduced to painting long before that, as both her parents (sadly deceased) were also artists. Central Art is excited to host some of Polly Anne's beautiful small artworks in 2017. |
