Mina Mina Jukurrpaby Susie Nangala WatsonThis Dreaming comes from Mina Mina, a very important women's Dreaming site far to the west of Yuendumu near Lake MacKay and the Western Australia Border. The Kirda of the Dreaming are Napangardi/Napanangka women and Japanangka/Japangardi men. The area is sacred to Napangardi/Napanangka women. There are a number of Mulju and a Maluri at the site of Mina Mina. This Dreaming is also linked with Ngalyipi or Snake Vine. ArtistSusie Nangala Watson was born in Yuendumu Community, approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. She is the daughter of well known Aboriginal artist Judy Napangardi Watson. Susie spends her time between Lajamanu and Balgo where she has family. She is married with three children. Susie has been painting with Warlukurlangu Artists, an Aboriginal art centre located in Yuendumu since 2000. Her Dreamings relate directly to her traditional country. She uses bold and bright colours within her artworks. |
