BiographyTheo(Faye) Nangala Hudson was born in 1989 and comes from Nyirripi Community approximately 440km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. She is the daughter of Warlukurlangu Artist Ursula Napangardi Hudson. Central Art is pleased to host artwork by both Ursula and Theo. Theo left school at the young age of 14 and later joined the Nyirripi Night Patrol Service, which provides a valuable service for the community faciliatating transportation and early intervention with the criminal justice system. Warlukurlangu Artists is based in Yuendumu Community however they provide art services to Nyirripi Community. Theo began painting with them in 2002 at the young age of 13 casually however has since began to paint more consistently. Theo paints both her parents Dreamings, from her fathers side of the family she paints Bush Banana and from her mother she paints Pikilyi Jukurrpa or Vaughan Springs Dreaming. These Dreamings have been passed down through Theo's family over generations. Theo uses an unrestricted palette of colour choosing bold and bright colours, she creates patterns that depict a modern interpretation of her traditional Dreamings. |
